Janet graduated from Russell Sage College in 1989 with her B.S. in Physical Therapy. She began her career in sports medicine and general orthopedics. In 1993 Janet pursued her interest in the treatment of the shoulder to the hand. She earned her certification in this specialty in 1998 receiving the title of Certified Hand Therapist (CHT).
She continues to focus on the treatment of shoulder to hand injuries and maintains her certification as a CHT through extensive hours of continuing education. Janet’s continuing education has included her certification in the use of SASTM ( Sound Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization). These tools coupled with other manual techniques have led Janet to a subspecialty of managing fibroses and scarring related to post surgical scars and overuse injuries .
Janet has had the benefit of working in the Syracuse area for her entire career thereby developing a strong working relationship with many of the local hand surgeons and their teams. These relationships combined with Janet’s approach of treating the patient as a whole leads to quality care with successful outcomes. Janet ‘s skill set includes custom made splints/orthoses, post operative care, injury treatment and prevention.
